SUPER IDEALS - Hearts & Arrows

Hearts & Arrows diamonds are stones that have been cut to exhibit a very precise pattern when viewed through a special viewer (Hearts and Arrows Viewer). A tube of coloured reflective foil is the source of the colour and the 8 white arrows are the same ones that are black through the ideal-scope. The 8 hearts are observed by looking at the back of an unset stone and should each have vee shaped arrowheads pointing to the culet.

  Carat Point Values

The prime condition for hearts and arrows to appear is perfect symmetry. The hearts must be regular in shape and size. If the cut of the diamond is even slightly asymmetrical, this will result in very noticeable distortions and variations in the size and design of the hearts and arrows.

  Carat Point Values

The symmetric balance and alignment of a brilliant's facets control the movement of light particles inside the diamond or scintillation. If all the facets or "mirrors" are in precise alignment and therefore can properly reflect the movement of light particles then the diamond is said not to be losing light, this being the case in perfect cut Hearts and Arrows diamonds.

  Carat Point Values

Cutting time influences the price of a diamond. While it takes approximately 1 hour to cut the average round brilliant cut diamond, once the girdle outline has been bruted, it will take approximately 96 times as long to cut a "hearts and arrows" diamond of the same size, clarity & colour with the result being greater loss of diamond rough.

There are only a handful of diamond cutters in the world with the level of craftsmanship to create a stone of the perfect Hearts & Arrows symmetry.

PRINCESS OF HEARTS

The term “Hearts and Arrows” is a term used by the diamond industry to describe diamonds that exhibit a crisp and complete pattern of eight hearts and eight arrows. Only true master diamond cutters can create a Hearts and Arrows diamond. To gain this optimum hearts and arrows diamond reflection and refraction of light, the cutter must be willing to sacrifice expensive rough diamond material losing a significant percentage of costly rough stone to yield a smaller diamond of superior beauty. All the facets must be exactly the same shape and size. As a result of this perfect or “ideal” cut, the diamonds exhibit a complete “Hearts and Arrows” pattern.

Until now, this description was only used for the finest ideal round brilliant cut diamonds. The princess of Hearts Diamond is the first ideal square cut Hearts and Arrows diamond.

The pattern is a series of eight arrows when viewed from above the crown (top) and eight heart shapes when viewed from the pavilion (bottom). Hearts and Arrows viewers eliminate incoming light from certain angles and cause the pattern to appear.

In order to display the pattern flawlessly, a diamond’s top facet or “table facet” must be exactly perpendicular to the bottom or “pavilion”. It must also be cut to have excellent symmetry of its major facets and have particular lengths of its lower girdle facets. All of the diamonds main facets MUST be precisely aligned exactly 180 degrees opposite each other or the Hears and Arrows pattern will not be precise and sharp and will show distortion or partial distortion. The Hearts and Arrows pattern results from the absolute perfect symmetry of the diamond and ideal proportions.

  Heart and Arrows

The rare combination of “ideal” proportions, ideal polish and ideal symmetry gives you a diamond that has a spectacular brilliance that outshines any other diamond. The fire, dispersion of light, and scintillation are truly a remarkable sight.

TYCOON CUT

The Tycoon Cut has a signature diamond-shaped table that makes this new cut 'the only diamond with a diamond on top.'

  Carat Point Values

The Tycoon-cut diamond reflects fifty percent more light than traditional cuts and sparkles unlike any other diamond, making it the diamond that refines and transforms tradition. It has 9 crown facets giving it significantly more brilliance and a larger table than any other cut.

Many fancy diamond cuts have recently come onto the market. This one is a real contribution to the industry. The new Tycoon Cut gives the emerald cut the sparkle it needs while, at the same time, retaining the subtle beauty of the original emerald cut.

Lucére Cut

The Lucére Cut diamond offers a shape similar to a princess cut diamond, but with a substantial increase in dispersion of light similar to a round brilliant.

  Carat Point Values

The Lucére diamond is a square stone with a step cut crown and a brilliant pavilion. The Lucére diamond is cut to precise measurements, ensuring consistency in make and maximum brilliance.
